18-Year-Old Killed In Danbury Drive-By Shooting: Police

Police have so far been unable to identify an assailant or assailants in the Danbury shooting, and the motive for the attack is unknown.

DANBURY, CT — An 18-year-old was killed in a drive-by shooting in the city Sunday night.

Police investigated multiple complaints of gunshots in the area of 19 Mill Ridge Road around 8 p.m. First responders found Yhameek Johnson, 18, of Danbury, being cared for by area residents.

Johnson was the victim of a drive-by shooting, "as he had been shot minutes earlier." Danbury police officials wrote in their report. "Officers rendered aid until emergency medical technicians arrived and later transported."

Johnson was taken to Danbury Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have so far been unable to identify an assailant or assailants, and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspect vehicle is a dark-colored SUV, according to investigators.
