20-Year-Old Danbury Man Arrested for Harassing Ex-Girlfriend

A Danbury man was arrested for second degree assault with intent to cause serious injury, a class C felony, among other charges.

BETHEL, CT — Bethel Police said they responded to a complaint by a town resident on November 9, 2016 that her ex-boyfriend was harassing her by phone and text message. This was in violation of a court-issued protective order baring contact in any way, police said.

The offending parry was identified as Norberto Tavarez, 20, of Danbury. He was located at his Scuppo Road residence in Danbury where he was placed under arrest and transported to Bethel Police headquarters. He was routinely processed and later released on $7,500 bond.

Tavarez was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court at 9:30 a.m. on November 10, 2016 on the above charge and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on November 17, 2016. Court records show he was arrested last June for second degree assault with intent to cause serious injury, a class C felony, second degree assault, a class B misdemeanor, third degree criminal mischief and failure to appear in court.
