Blue Collar Tug of War, Boughton Versus Democrats
After Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton called himself a "blue collar" Republican, Democratic state Central Committee Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo said he isn't. Surprise or politics?
The Democratic State Central Committee released a brief rebuttal to Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton's comments (see attached video,)Â he is a "blue collar Republican."
"Today the Connecticut Democratic Party released the following statement from Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo, said state Democrats in a press release filed on Aug. 15.
“Despite long records of consistently voting against middle class families, or getting rich off firing middle class workers, the trio of Republican candidates for Governor continues to fall all over themselves to tout their ‘blue collar’  credentials.
“Mark Boughton says he’s ‘blue collar’, but when given the opportunity to support education at a local level, he voted to cut grants that are distributed to municipalities across the state.
