Campaign Notebook: Like Obama? Vote for Me, McMahon Says

A new ad from the Linda McMahon campaign features supporters of Barack Obama who also plan to vote for McMahon. Democrats – and some Republicans – are questioning the ad, which says McMahon would work with Obama if elected.

Chris Murphy told the Associated Press that the claim McMahon would work with Obama is a "lie.”

The Hartford Courant reports that the ad had a backlash on Facebook and Twitter from angry McMahon supporters.

Fifth District

Elizabeth Esty (D): Campaign finance manager director Brian Weeks told supporters in an e-mail about the endorsement Esty received from the New York Times.

“And it’s not just the newspapers that are learning about Elizabeth’s fortitude,” he wrote. “More and more, folks across the 5th District are getting to know that Elizabeth is just the kind of principled, commonsense leader we need to send to Washington.”

Andrew Roraback (R) released his latest television ad. Titled “Blatant Lies,” the ad accuses Esty of “blatant smears” and “false attacks.”
