Community Rally To Demand More School Funding In Danbury

The Recovery for All coalition "speak-out" will be held at Rogers Park Middle School Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

DANBURY, CT — Teachers, students, parents, community members, religious leaders, and labor organizations will demand more funding for the public school district Thursday.

The Recovery for All coalition "speak-out" will be held at Rogers Park Middle School at 5:30 p.m., according to a flyer.

The schools have proposed a 9.82 percent budget increase, requesting over $149 million for the 2021-22 fiscal year. While not offering any additional funding for public schools, Gov. Ned Lamont's budget does name Danbury as one of the communities in line for a variety of state and federal aid, most of it coronavirus-related.
