Danbury Police charged Mathew Leonard, 23, with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, two counts of risk of injury to a minor (sexual contact,) and one count of fourth-degree sexual assault, following a July 24 complaint to the state about a sexual assault.
Police said they investigated the complaint lodged with the state Department of Children and Families, and sought a warrant for Leonard. Police charged Leonard on Aug. 2, and said no more details about the assault would be released to help protect the identity of the victim.
