What business are you in?

Commercial, Home and Auto insurance including General Liability, Professional Liability, Data Breach, Workers Comp insurance, etc. As an independent agent I represent a number of insurance companies, and sell the products that most appropriately meet the needs of my clients.

How did you come up with the name?

I am under contract with 1st Quality Insurance Group out of Lake Wales Florida. I chose the name because I am their Danbury agent.

Why start a business in this town?

Danbury has a diverse and thriving business community and that affords the opportunity to build a small business.

What is the most difficult challenge you have faced as a business owner?

Building a client base is the biggest challenge. Advertising alone is not enough to attract clients. Customers want to know they are working with a reputable business. I address this through the use of Direct Billing where possible (where the insurance company bills the customer, and the agent collects no money) as well as being a member of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce.

What is your proudest achievement since opening?

Getting positive feedback from an internationally-based client after working to get their products insured worldwide, a pre-requisite for their products to be sold in some big box stores.

How does your business give back to the community?

The insurance products I sell protect families and businesses from loss. My business is a sole proprietorship. I donate to charities under my own name, and am active in the community.
