Danbury Woman Killed In Crash; Police Seek Witnesses

Connecticut State Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash that killed Sharon May Piech, of Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — A Danbury woman was killed in a head-on collision with a pickup truck Sunday, according to Connecticut State Police.

Sharon May Piech, 39, of Crows Nest Lane, was traveling in the westbound lane of Route 202/Litchfield Turnpike in Washington when she veered into oncoming traffic around 1:30 p.m., police said. Her 2015 Subaru Forrester sideswiped a 2018 Mercedes-Benz and continued another 100 feet before colliding head-on with a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck, police said.

Piech succumbed to her injuries en route to New Milford Hospital. The driver of the pickup truck and his three passengers were taken to Danbury Hospital for further evaluation. The driver of the Mercedes and his passenger reported no injuries.
