Since the City of Danbury’s streetscape construction project is set to continue around the CityCenter Green for the next couple months, residents can expect a more non-traditional summer season than previous years with different events in various locations downtown.

Take in the beautiful sunset over the cityscape from the Patriot Parking Garage rooftop during a monthly ‘Dancing Under The Stars.’ Grab your lawn chair and test your pop culture smarts at Danbury’s first Best Trivia Ever series in Kennedy Park. Savor fresh locally grown eats at the Danbury Farmers’ Market, once again host at the Danbury Railway Museum. Shop local artisans and play a quick game of cornhole or ping-pong at the Blue Haus Group’s ‘Pop-Up & Play’ along Bardo Walkway by the Danbury Music Centre.

“People are eager to get out and enjoy what our city has to offer,” says Angela Wong, Executive Director of CityCenter Danbury. “We want them to come downtown for a walk, grab a bite to eat at one of the many diverse restaurant options, and have the opportunity to do something a little different.”

This week’s event line-up kicks off on Thursday with ‘Dancing Under the Stars’ from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. From the rooftop of the Patriot Parking Garage, Arthur Murray of Danbury will teach a free 30-minute lesson, and afterward attendees can practice what they learned at an open dance party with live DJ music. This event series is generously sponsored by Setaro Law Firm and will continue through September on the last Thursday of each month.

On Friday, CityCenter is thrilled to invite Best Trivia Ever to Danbury for the first time. This series will consist of three Friday night events taking place June 25th, July 30th, and August 27th. All three events have a 7:00pm start time and are free to the public.

The ‘Pop-Up & Play’ series collaboration with Blue Haus Group continues on Friday evenings, 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with outdoor ping pong, bean bag toss, pop-up vendors, and music in the walkway by the Danbury Music Centre.

Friday is also the opening day of the Danbury Farmers’ Market, held once again at the Danbury Railway Museum, 120 White Street. Mayor Joe Cavo will help ring in the 2021 season starting at 10:00am. Complimentary parking is available at the Danbury Metro-North station.
