New Urgent Care Walk-in Center Ribbon-Cutting Celebration today at 5 pm

Connecticut franchisees have invested millions of dollars and created over 100 jobs across the State

AFC, the nation’s leading provider of urgent care, is hosting a grand opening celebration today, Wednesday, July 12 in conjunction with the Danbury Chamber of Commerce. The event will begin at 5 pm and will be
followed by an hour of networking, light refreshments, and clinic tours. The new Danbury center is located at 46C Newtown Road and mark’s AFC’s third location to open in Danbury and its 12th to open in Connecticut.

Tom Kelly and Ron Krippner, the Connecticut-based franchisees, recently invested $1.1 million to build out their third Danbury location in the new Newtown Road development. The 2,900 square foot facility will feature six patient rooms, a digital x-ray suite and a state-of-the-art laboratory. The Center will be open seven days a week; Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 pm; Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 5 pm. No appointment will be needed. Most major insurance plans will be accepted.

The new AFC Urgent Care Center will provide state-of-the-art medical services for illnesses, injuries, accidents, adult medicine, pediatric medicine, preventative care, lab tests, vaccinations, and physical exams.
AFC’s newest Danbury location will also feature a full suite of occupational medicine and workers’ compensation services. These services include OSHA-mandated medical surveillance exams, D.O.T. and non-D.O.T. drug screens and physicals, breath alcohol tests, and many other services.

Led by Rebekah Kasmarski, Administrator, and Dr. Iftikhar Ali, M.D., Medical Director, the new AFC urgent care center will employ a combination of board-certified physicians, physician assistants, APRNs, x-ray technicians and support staff. Doctors are USCIS Certified Civil Surgeons who are able to perform full immigration physicals. The digital x-ray suite can perform x-rays on almost any body part, from head to toe. The laboratory can perform testing for STDs, the flu, strep throat, arthritis, mononucleosis and
thyroid-related illnesses. The lab can also conduct microscopies, full lab panels and urinalysis.
