Thunderstorm Alert For Danbury, Ridgefield Area: NWS
Strong storms are expected to move in soon in parts of Fairfield County.
DANBURY METRO AREA — The National Weather Service said a line of strong thunderstorms will be moving across the New York line and into parts of Fairfield County very soon.
"At 12:09 P.M. EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Yorktown Heights to Nanuet. Movement was east at 30 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these storms.
These storms will be near:
Yorktown Heights around 1215 PM EDT.
Mahopac around 1220 PM EDT.
Carmel and Hawthorne around 1230 PM EDT.
Brewster around 1235 PM EDT.
Mount Kisco around 1240 PM EDT.
Danbury around 1250 PM EDT.
Bedford and Brookfield around 1255 PM EDT.
Ridgefield around 100 PM EDT.
