Special Weather Statement Just Issued For Fairfield County

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for northern central Fairfield County.

"At 225 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Fahnestock State Park, or 7 miles northeast of Cold Spring, moving east at 30 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Danbury, Lake Carmel, Sherman, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Carmel, Fahnestock State Park, Patterson, Putnam Lake and Brewster Hill.

"Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways."
