Serious Accident on Route 7 Leaves Danbury Woman in Critical Care
A three-car accident just south of Ridgefield on August 12 caused a 19-year-old Danbury woman to be airlifted to the hospital.

Emergency responders airlifted one woman for critical injuries after a serious three-car crash which occurred on Route 7 Sunday at 5 p.m, just south of the Day’s Inn, according to the Redding Police Department.
Chief of Police Douglas Fuchs said police are still investigating the matter and are not yet releasing names or identifying information of those involved in the accident. Fuchs later revealed the most seriously injured woman's name, Nichole Reyes, 19, of Danbury.
Fuchs said that he did not know the woman's current condition, but that she is alive. Two other persons were transported to the hospital for non-serious injuries, according to Redding Police.

While the incident occurred in the Redding portion of Rte 7, “was in full force” at the scene and assisted with traffic, said Fuchs. A large section of Rte. 7 spanning Rte. 35 and Rte. 102 intersections remained closed for approximately five hours while police conducted an investigation, said Fuchs.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
