Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Inland Southern Connecticut
The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for inland sections of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties.
INTERIOR SECTIONS OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for inland sections of southern Connecticut for the chance of freezing rain tonight and early Saturday. There is also a chance for some light snow accumulation on Sunday.
The weather advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday as freezing rain is expected and may briefly mix with snow and sleet at the onset. Ice accumulation of a light glaze is forecast.
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. In addition, there is potential for a light snowfall accumulation Sunday into Sunday Night," the weather service said.

A total ice accumulation of up to 0.07 inches is possible, which could "result in dangerous travel with icing on untreated and elevated surfaces," the weather service said.

New Year's Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Light and variable wind.
Tonight: A chance of rain and sleet before 9pm, then rain or freezing rain between 9pm and 11pm, then rain after 11pm. Low around 33. Northeast wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday: Rain likely, mainly before 9am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Northeast wind 5 to 14 mph becoming west in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north.
Sunday: Rain and snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Sunday Night: Rain before 11pm, then rain and snow. Low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Monday: A chance of rain and snow before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
