CROMWELL, CT — Amazon is planning on opening a new facility in Cromwell that is expected to create hundreds of full-time jobs, according to a statement from the town.

"I'm very pleased to welcome Amazon and their new 400,00-plus square-foot facility at 120 County Line Drive to Cromwell," Mayor Enzo Faienza said in a statement. "I look forward to having Amazon as a member of the Town of Cromwell's business community."

Employees at the site will work alongside innovative technologies to pick, pack, and ship larger customer items such as mattresses, kayaks, grill,, and exercise equipment. In addition, Amazon will hire for roles in human resources, operations management, safety, finance, and information technology.

Amazon continues to add to its footprint in Connecticut. The company recently received approval to open a delivery center in Wallingford, where it currently operates a sorting center.

A fulfillment center opened in North Haven last year and a new distribution facility in Stratford was projected to open in May. Amazon also has plans for opening a second facility in Windsor.
