Durham And Middlefield Voters To Decide On Region 13 Field House Funding

Polls will be open on May 2 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

DURHAM, CT — Whether Region 13 should spend $800,000 to complete the unfinished sports complex at Coginchaug Regional High School will on a referendum for Durham and Middlefield voters on May 2.

The long-delayed project has a foundation but has sat idle due to a lack of funds, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

The referendum question reads as follows:

SHALL REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER 13 APPROPRIATE $800,000 AND AUTHORIZE BONDS AND TEMPORARY NOTES IN THE SAME AMOUNT FOR DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPPING OF AN ATHLETIC FIELD HOUSE AT COGINCHAUG REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN DURHAM?

A "Yes" vote will approve of the resolution, while a "No" vote opposes it, according to district officials.

Polls will be open on the 2nd from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., but the night before, at 8 p.m. on May 1, the proposed Region 13 budget will be the subject of consideration during a meeting at Coginchaug Regional High School.
