Fore! The Library Minigolf

On March 2 and 3, the Durham Public Library will host its first ever “Fore! the Library” minigolf event. Organized by PALS: The Friends of the Durham Public Library, the two-day event will raise funds to support library programs and services. PALS is pleased to announce that the following businesses and organizations have agreed to be event sponsors: Championship Sponsor Johnson Brunetti Investments, Double Eagle Sponsor Indian Springs Golf Club, and Eagle Sponsor Lyman Orchards. “Birdie” sponsors include Attorney Annette Willis, Chapman Manufacturing, Durham Lions Club, Durham Veterinary Hospital, Pediatric and Adolescent Medical Group of Middletown, and Perma Treat Corporation. “Par” sponsors include: Betsy and Bob Booz, Brownstone Psychological Associates, Core Club, Durham Family Eye Care, Financial Benefits Unlimited, Glazer Dental, and Miller Fence. Additional sponsorship opportunities remain available to businesses and organizations.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Library will be transformed into an 18-hole miniature golf course spreading throughout the main floor of the library and finishing at the “19th hole” on the lower level. Saturday March 2 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. will be an adult only event. For $25 per person, adults 21+ can enjoy beer, wine, and appetizers as well as trying their hands at golfing through the stacks.

Sunday, March 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. will be Family Day, with minigolf, snacks, and crafts. Tickets are $5 per person, up to a maximum of $20 per family. Children 4 and under are admitted free.

Library Director Christine Michaud stated, “We think that this event will be a lot of fun. We hope that the event will attract a large audience, from frequent Library visitors to residents who may not have visited us in a while.”

PALS: The Friends of the Durham Public Library was founded in 1983 with the goal of promoting awareness and enhancing usage of the Library. PALS raises funds for programs, materials, equipment, and services not included in the Town’s Library budget.
