Thanks to a little ingenuity and hard work, the Lake Beseck beach area will open this summer to swimmers.
Volunteers recently hauled pile after pile of invasive weeds out of the water to clear the lake's swim area. As a result, the beach will open in early July and lifeguards will be on duty.
Beach passes are available at Middlefield Town Hall and will also be sold to residents on weekends when the beach opens.
