Middlefield Crews Extinguish House Fire

Middlefield and several other area fire departments fought the blaze Wednesday morning.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — Firefighters extinguished a blaze Wednesday morning at a Powder Hill Road home. Crews arrived just after 8:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor.

Middlefield firefighters were able to make a quick stop and contained the majority of the fire to one bedroom of the home.

Middlefield and mutual aid companies assured there was no further extension of fire to the home.

All people and pets made it out of the home safely and no injuries were reported.

Just before 8:30 this morning, crews were dispatched for the reported structure fire at a residence on Powder Hill Road....
