Middlefield Sesquicentennial Winter Festival 2016: A Complete Guide

The winter festival, in honor of Middlefield's 150th anniversary, is taking place Saturday, Jan. 23, at Lake Beseck Beach.

The Middlefield Sesquicentennial Winter Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Lake Beseck Beach on Lake Road.

There is a snowstorm in the forecast for the weekend. Middlefield Parks and Recreation said the event will still take place, even if it snows.

“ We’ll be there regardless the weather,” Middlefield Parkandrecreation said via Facebook. “We are hoping for lots of snow!”

Schedule of Events

  • 10 a.m. to Noon: CT Aquatic Resources Education (CARE) Ice Fishing Program by CT DEEP
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ice carving demonstrations
  • 1 p.m. Middlefield Volunteer Fire Dept. Ice/Water Safety Demo
  • 5 p.m. Full moon event and Lighting of the Lake at the close
