New Restaurant Planned For Time Out Taverne Site in Durham

The owners of a popular restaurant in Connecticut have announced new plans for the site.

DURHAM, CT — The owner's of Joe Pizza in Simsbury say they are opening the Horseshoe Taverne at 100 New Haven Road, which is the site of the former Time Out Taverne restaurant that closed abruptly earlier in 2019.

In the social media post, Joe's Pizza wrote, "“It’s official... had the closing on the building today future home of the Horseshoe Taverne. Time to get dirty and get to work and get open!!!!!"

Joe's Pizza says they are trying to open by August or September depending on how renovations proceed.

"....you will enjoy we promise and we look forward to being a part of the community and meeting everyone. Stop in and say hi the owner will be there everyday Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm till we get open."

The owners promise a full menu and not just pizza while adding that they are known for their speciality burgers.

Residents of the Town of Durham, CT said, "Best of luck to the new owners! I love the nod to all of our equine businesses in town!"

Karen Stackpole wrote, "Welcome to Durham!! Hurry up and get here, we’re hungry!!! Who loves the new name?? This horse girl!!"
