Not Your Usual Fireworks

Many Durham and Middlefield residents are concerned about very loud holiday explosions in the skies above Powder Hill and Skeet club Rd.in Durham and Middlefield CT. These are not your usual fireworks- they are loud and earth shaking and are extremely disturbing to humans and animals during the night. They usually occur around the holidays and as expected we heard them last night and are awaiting tonight as well. There have been multiple complaints for the last few years to the resident troopers without success in stopping these disturbing events. I have reason to believe the explosives may be a substance called Tannerite which is legal in CT but not in other states. Tannerite is used in exploding gun targets -The legality of the substance does not negate the disturbance to the peace that these explosions- and I do say explosions -cause. it is time to put an end to explosions that are not the normal fireworks that everyone enjoys on the holidays. I do not know who is responsible for this, but I do hope that the state troopers will take this seriously and discourage what is happening.
