Obituary: Dan Hyland, 69, of Rockfall
Dan was a life member and served as a Chief of the Middlefield Fire Department.

Dan Hyland, 69, of Rockfall, husband of Patricia (Garrell) Hyland, died suddenly on Wednesday November 7, 2018.
He was born in Middletown, the son of Richard Hyland and Katherine (Little) Hyland Galanto. Dan proudly served with the US Marines Corp. and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from Vinal Technical High School as a tool and die maker and had spent over 50 years in the industry.

He worked many years with The Zygo Corporation and was the owner of Hyland Machine and Tool in Middlefield. Most recently employed by Lacey Manufacturing Company. Dan was a life member and served as a Chief of the Middlefield Fire Department. He was a member of the late Model Mustang Club.
In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by his daughters, Denise Hyland of Middletown; Susan Meigel and her husband John of Lebanon and his brother, Douglas Hyland and his wife Barbara of North Port, FL. Dan, aka “Poppi” was a larger than life, adoring grandfather to his six grandchildren; Sarah, Alexis, Joseph, Addison, Cole and Macey. He also leaves a special brother in law, Kelly Nauss and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dan loved this country, it’s flag, his Mustang and the New York Yankees. Most of all, he loved his family.
Memorial services will be held Saturday (Nov. 17th) at 11a.m. at the Middlefield Fire Department, Main St., Middlefield, all are welcome to attend. There are no calling hours.
