David J. Fillmore, 59, of Conway, South Carolina and formerly of Rockfall, Connecticut, received his last call to duty on Monday December 3, 2018 at the Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on February 4, 1959 in Middletown, Connecticut to the late Clarence Fillmore & Elizabeth Deegan Fillmore.
A hard working man, David was a proud and skilled volunteer firefighter. He was a life member of the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department and was a fireman there for 27 years and went on to become Assistant Chief. He also went on to retire from the Connecticut Department of Transportation following 27 more years of dedicated service.

Following his retirement, David was able to enjoy the finer things in life. He relished spending time with his friends and family, and was known for being the life of the party. David loved to have a good time, work in his yard and play with his beloved k-9 companions. He will be truly missed for his kind demeanor and love for helping others.
Left to cherish David’s memory are his adoring wife of 37 years, Mrs. Mary Petersen Fillmore of Conway, South Carolina; his brothers, Skip Fillmore and his wife, Bonnie of Plantsville, Connecticut & Donald Fillmore and his wife, Kathy of Middletown, Connecticut; his sister, Robin Fillmore and her partner, Connie of Danielson, Connecticut; brother in-law, Steven Petersen and his wife, Mary of Pylesville, Maryland; his cherished furbabies, Bella & Max; as well as several nieces and nephews & many supportive friends and neighbors both locally and in Connecticut.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held in Connecticut. Those details will be announced when finalized.
