Obituary: Michael Genovese, 87, U.S. Air Force Veteran

The following obituary of Middlefield resident Michael Genovese, 87, is from Biega Funeral Home:

Michael Genovese, 87, of Middlefield, husband of Bernadette (Cameron) Reed-Genovese, died Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Connecticut Hospice, Branford, surrounded by his family.

He was born in New Haven on March 22, 1931, the son of the late Michele and Marziella (DeGregorio) Genovese. A veteran of the Korean War, Mike served with the US Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he was a machinist with Petcar and later Chapman Manufacturing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step children, Alan Reed of Middlefield, Robert Reed of Pennsylvania, and Bernadette Paranzino of Middlefield; a brother, Frank Genovese of New Haven; and several very dear nieces and nephews and step grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Genovese; and stepson, William Reed, Jr.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 27 at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, New Haven. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
