Police: Pistol, Jewelry Stolen from Durham Home

State police investigate burglary on Route 79.

State police are investigating a residential burglary in Durham earlier this week.

Police were called to 404 Madison Road (Route 79) at approximately 5:19 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, after the homeowner discovered that someone had forced their way into the home through an unlocked window.

The burglary occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Items including gold and silver jewelry, as well as a .38 caliber PPK pistol were stolen from the home's master bedroom during the burglary, according to a report.

The missing items are valued at approximately $2,175, the report says.
