State Police Break Up Underage Drinking Party in Middlefield
A 19-year-old faces charges after a state police party patrol found underage drinkers at a Middlefield home over the Memorial Day weekend.

State police arrested a Middlefield teenager after breaking up an underage drinking party over the weekend, police said.
Peter Booth, 19, of Day School Drive, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with permitting a minor to possess alcohol and failure to halt a minor to possess alcohol.
According to Sgt. Sal Calvo, troopers conducting party patrols over the Memorial Day weekend responded to a home on Day School Drive around midnight after receiving an anonymous tip that a possible underage drinking party was being held there.
When troopers arrived at the home, according to Calvo, they noticed as many as 20 cars parked in the area and witnessed some people leaving the home.
"Troopers went to the front door of the residence and when the door opened approximately 20 to 30 more individuals fled through the rear of the house through the woods and into neighboring properties," he said.
When questioned by police, Booth said that his parents were away and admitted to having alcohol at the party. He also said that some of the partygoers were under 21, Calvo said.
Police were able to interview all of the partygoers but did not make any other arrests, Calvo said.
Booth is due in court on June 6.
