Task Force Needs Volunteers for Durham Fair Composting Project

The Durham-Middlefield Clean Energy & Sustainability Task Force is looking for volunteers to help with their Durham Fair Composting Project.

Approximately 20 non-profit food vendors have agreed to separate their compostable waste during the four-day event. In addition, the task force is searching for community members who would like to help with the project.

Some of the jobs include:

  • distribution of the composting bins to vendors
  • helping with educating the vendors on what can go into the bins
  • checking with vendors about questions and concerns they have
  • collection of the compostables to a centralized location before the fair opens each day and on Sunday night
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Susan Michael at 860-349-1362.
