Workshop on the Future of Region 13 Schools Will be Feb. 19

The Durham and Middlefield district is developing a utilization plan for the school facilities.

The Region 13 Board of Education will be holding another community workshop on the future of the school facilities in Durham and Middlefield.

The district is developing a utilization plan for the district's schools and this latest workshop on Feb. 19 follows two previous ones in October and December, according to a press release from the district's website.

Here's the rest of the release printed in full:

During the first workshop Region 13 consultant, Drummey Rosane Anderson, Inc. (“DRA”) led a general session and three different focus groups to gather community input on the needs in the school district. DRA held a second workshop to identify possible alternatives for the District on December 11 and then shaped specific recommendations for Board of Education consideration.

The third workshop will include a presentation on the demographics/enrollment study, a review of options, and a question and answer session.

DRA’s study will consider the broadest range of options and possibilities to address the needs of the RSD13 school system.

We continue to seek your attendance and participation. You are invited to join us, along with your thoughts, ideas and suggestions.
