Driver Dies After Head-On Crash In Portland
One driver was killed and another was seriously injured after a head-on crash that closed part of Route 17 for several hours on Thursday.
PORTLAND, CT — A woman was killed and another driver was seriously injured in a head-on crash on Route 17 in Portland on Thursday afternoon, according to the Hartford Courant.
The crash closed Route 17 between Appletree Lane and Overlook Court for several hours on Thursday, according to state transportation officials.
The Courant reports a male driver went over the center line and struck the vehicle the woman was driving. He was seriously injured and is in intensive care, according to the Courant.

LifeStar was called to the scene for at least one victim suffering a serious head injury, WTNH News 8 reported.
