Early-Morning East Hampton Crash Leaves One Dead, Two Seriously Injured

A Ford Explorer driving on Rt. 16 this morning struck a stone wall and killed the driver.

The driver of a 2009 Ford Explorer is dead and two passengers are seriously injured after the SUV drove off the road this morning in East Hampton and crashed into a stone wall.

The East Hampton Police Department reports that around 1:10 this morning, a 2009 Ford Explorer traveling westbound on Rt. 16 drove off the road into a stone wall and trees. The accident killed the driver of the SUV, while two passengers in the vehicle are in the hospital in serious condition, according to police.

The names of the victims have yet to be released. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any other information to provide is asked to call the East Hampton Police Department at (860) 267-9922.
