East Hampton Brewery Bans Pets, Kids

A local brewery has decided to go kid and pet free.

EAST HAMPTON, CT — A local brewery has made the decision to ban children and pets due to safety issues. Fat Orange Cat Brew Co. said it will become kid and pet free beginning Sept. 28. Only those over 21 years old will be allowed to enter.

"We realize this is a HUGE decision but we take the safety of our staff, our customers, our cherished pets and our property VERY VERY VERY seriously," the brewery wrote in a social media post. "There is no doubt some people will be upset and perhaps we'll lose some folks' business, we get it, but in the end there is nothing more important than the wellbeing and safety of everyone who visits FOC and everyone who is a part of the craft beer community. "

They said that this has been "an increasingly serious issue in the brewery scene."
