EAST HAMPTON, CT — East Hampton-based AirLine Cycles has acquired Colchester-based Sunshine Cycle & Run. The deal, finalized in October, expands the footprint of AirLine, which opened five years ago.

Both stores are located off the Airline Trail, a state park that stretches across a wide swath of eastern Connecticut.

"From the very beginning, the core of our business model has been to integrate the shop into the fiber of the vibrant area community," owner Brian Holdt said in a statement. "That accomplished, our reputation spread beyond the region and we now draw customers from every corner of Connecticut and beyond."
