East Hampton Election Day Information: What You Need to Know

Election Day is coming up on Nov. 7. Here's a guide to your town.

EAST HAMPTON, CT - With the state locked in its worst budget crisis, municipal officials will play a big role in each town's direction. On Nov. 7, people across the state will head to the polls to elect these officials. Here's what you can expect on Election Day in your town.

  • Where do I vote? The Connecticut Secretary of State's website has a helpful function to find out exactly where your polling place is. Click here for more information.
  • When do I vote? Polls across the state will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone standing in line at 8 p.m. will be permitted to vote.
  • Do I need an ID to vote? In most cases, you do not need an ID to vote. According to the Secretary of State's website: "When you arrive at the polling place the poll worker will request that you present ID but if you do not have any then in most cases, you may sign an affidavit in lieu of presenting ID."
  • Do I need to be registered to vote before Election Day? No. By state law, you are allowed to register on Election Day at your town’s Election Day Registration location.
