East Hampton Swears In New Police Chief
East Hampton's ninth police chief was officially sworn in during a ceremony this week.

EAST HAMPTON, CT — East Hampton's ninth police chief, Dennis Woessner, was officially sworn in during a ceremony Tuesday at the high school, the Middletown Press reported. He was sworn in by Town Clerk Sandra Wieleba.
According to the Middletown Press, Woessner was chosen out of 35 applicants to fill the vacancy created after Chief Sean D. Cox retired at the end of last year. Former Groton City chief Thomas Davoren served as acting chief following Cox's retirement.
Woessner comes to the department with 30 years of previous experience, according to the Middletown Press. He previously served as captain of the Glastonbury Police Department.
