Suspect Who Crashed Into School Bus Hits More Vehicles: UPDATE
Police said a man who crashed a stolen truck into a school bus in East Hampton was taken to the hospital after colliding with more vehicles.

EAST HAMPTON, CT – State police said a man who allegedly crashed a stolen truck into a school bus Monday morning in East Hampton was taken to the hospital after colliding with passenger vehicles during a pursuit in East Windsor.
According to a news release, state police alerted area departments to be on the lookout for the suspect in a stolen white Jeep following the crash. Waterbury Police subsequently located the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit, which police said ultimately broke off.
State police were then able to locate the vehicle on Department of Transportation cameras and followed it by camera through several towns until it came through the Hartford tunnels. Troopers pursued the vehicle from Hartford until the Jeep collided with several passenger vehicles on Route 140 in East Windsor.

Police said the suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, the extent of which are unknown at this time. Minor injuries were reported from passengers of the other vehicles the suspect struck, police said.
Police said the white pick-up truck was reported stolen from a Starbucks in Colchester before crashing into the bus on Main Street around 7:40 a.m., NBC Connecticut reported. The suspect was described by police as a man with curly hair wearing khaki pants and a sweater.

According to NBC Connecticut, police said approximately 20 children were on board the bus, however no injuries were reported. The children were subsequently transported onto another bus to be taken to school.
According to News 8, police said a Good Samaritan stopped to make sure everyone on the bus was alright after the crash, during which the suspect stole their Jeep and fled.
Police said the incident remains under investigation.
