Police Search For Portland Car Theft Suspect

Police are searching for a suspect in two car theft incidents.

PORTLAND, CT — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole a car in Hartford, drove it to Portland, then stole another car, according to The Middletown Press. It's believed that the suspect abandoned the car at a gas station on Route 66, then stole another vehicle that was idling at the station.

Police were called to Cumberland Farms at 204 Marlborough St. Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. regarding a stolen vehicle. The suspect left the first stolen car at the gas station.

East Hampton police spotted the vehicle on Route 66 but were unable to stop the driver, according to The Middletown Press.
