Portland Man Steals Phones From Police Department HQ: PD

A man stole two phones that were left at the Middletown Police Department, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Portland man was arrested after he stole two phones that were accidently left in the Middletown Police Department lobby bathroom, according to police

A city employee used the bathroom around 11 a.m. Feb. 14 and left the two phones in a pouch. About 20 minutes later Rick Cafro, 60, used the bathroom and left with the phones, police said.

A couple of hours later police learned that Cafro wanted to exchange money for the phones and would be at the MATT station. Police responded and took Cafro into custody. The phones were recovered, police said.

He was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a $2,500 bond.
