Red-Tailed Hawk Rescued at Portland Golf Range

Portland's animal control officer Karen Perruccio used a bucket truck to untangle the hawk from netting.

Animal control officers often go to great heights to help save animals... sometimes literally. Portland's animal control officer, Karen Perruccio, climbed into the bucket of a bucket truck to rescue a red-tailed hawk.

Middletown Animal Control gave a shout-out to Karen via Facebook:

"Way to go Portland ACO Karen! This female red-tailed hawk gets to return to freedom after ACO Karen arranged for her rescue from the netting at a golf range. Karen went up in a bucket truck to untangle this hawk from the net. A rescue looked her over and determined she was well enough to be released! Nice work Karen!"
