1 Perishes In Fire At Somers Apartment Complex
The early morning fire Wednesday claimed the life of one person and displaced tenants of seven other units, according to fire officials.

SOMERS, CT — A raging fire at an apartment complex on Sokol Road claimed the life of one person early Wednesday morning, according to Somers fire officials.
The blaze was reported by a neighbor across the street at 12:39 a.m., reporting heavy fire showing from a building at the Country Gardens Apartments complex. A person who lived in the unit which caught fire died, fire officials said.
Tenants of the building's other seven units were displaced, and were being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Investigators were still working at the scene as of 7 a.m. Wednesday. No cause of the blaze has yet been determined.
