2-Alarm Fire Causes Major Damage To House In Somers
A resident of the house and a firefighter sustained minor injuries in the blaze late Sunday night.

SOMERS, CT — A 2-alarm fire late Sunday night at a house on Beverly Dr. resulted in considerable damage to the home, and caused minor injuries to a resident and a firefighter.
The blaze at 54 Beverly Dr. was reported at 10:16 p.m. The first units to arrive at the scene reported heavy fire on the upper level of the house, and a second alarm was activated, Fire Chief John Roache said.
Access to the house was hindered by a long driveway and snow, as well as no fire hydrants in the immediate area. Tankers were brought in to shuttle water, Roache said.
