3rd Arrest Made In Scheme To Sell Ring Found At Somers Store
A store employee has been charged in a lost and found sell-off scheme, state police said.

SOMERS, CT — A grocery store manager is the third person arrested by state police in connection with a scheme to take and sell a diamond ring that was lost and turned in at the establishment, according to a warrant.
Debra McCormack, 54, of Somers is that third person, state police said. She has been charged with violating the duties of a finder of lost property, Section 50-10 of the state statutes. She has also been charged with second-degree larceny and a related conspiracy, according to a warrant. She is due in court on April 8.
Wayne McCormack, 55, of Somers, was charged last week with second-degree larceny and felony conspiracy, according to a warrant. He posted a $25,000 bond and is due in court on April 1, a warrant states.

Jennifer Olko, 46, of Somers, was charged last week with conspirary to commit second-degree larceny, state police said. Her initial $25,000 bond was reduced to a promise to appear in court on March 19 and she is due back before a judge on May 11, according to judicial system records.
The ring was lost in the parking lot at Geissler's supermarket in Somers and was turned in at the custmer service desk, according to a warrant. State police placed its value at about $19,000. The diamond portion of the ring was seized an an Ellington jewelry store and is being held as evidence, according to a warrant.

Olko was a "regular" at the store and the owner considered her a friend, according to a warrant. She and Wayne McCormack teamed up to sell the ring in January for cash and check payments of $6,200; $200; $1,000; and $5,000, according to a warrant.
Debra McCormack is identified in a warrant as the "front-end manager" at the supermarket who had access to valuables in the lost and found.
