Car Burglars Seen On Surveillance Video In Ellington

State police have released the video seeking assistance with identifying the suspects and to alert the public about their mode of operation.

ELLINGTON, CT — State police have shared a surveillance video of a car burglary in Ellington, in hopes that members of the public can help identify the suspects, and also to illustrate the speed with which they move and operate.

A Ring System residential surveillance camera captured a pair of suspects exiting a white SUV and trotting up the driveway of an Ellington home. The duo begins checking vehicle doors, with one entering an unlocked SUV around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22. The driver of the suspects' SUV remained in the vehicle, the video shows.

"The importance of sharing this is two fold - one to see if they can be identified. It appears they are covering their faces and wearing latex gloves. They seem to be catching on that camera systems are working to identify individuals. The second is, we want the public to see how quick they are and what they are doing, the importance of locking their cars and bringing valuables inside."
