ELLINGTON, CT — A New Britain resident was arrested last weekend in connection with a sexual assault case dating back to 2008, involving a girl who was 5 or 6 years old at the time, state police said.

Callahan Jones, 27, was charged with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child. He is currently being held in lieu of $100,000 bond, according to court records.

An affidavit supporting Jones' arrest indicates troopers were called to Ellington High School on March 12, 2018, with a report of a teenage girl believed to be under the influence of alcohol. During the course of interviewing the girl, she made "statements about previous sexual abuse several years ago."
