Double SNAP Benefits at Ellington Farmers' Market

The Ellington Farmers' Market has established a $2000 fund to match SNAP dollars at the summer 2016 season beginning May 7th.

Due to the generous support of local businesses through a Market Partner program, the Ellington Farmers' Market has established a $2000 fund to match SNAP benefits at the market.

Customers of the market may process their EBT card transactions at the Market Booth, recognizable by a large green banner, where they can request any dollar amount to be debited from their card. The market will match up to twenty dollars per week per individual EBT card until the $2000 fund is depleted. Customers are given SNAP coins in which to shop with. Any unused coins may be redeemed on subsequent market days.

The Ellington Farmers' Market runs through Oct. 22nd from 9am-noon in Arbor Park, Main St. Ellington. There are 40 weekly vendors bringing a wide variety of local and fresh produce, seafood, meats, baked goods, dairy products, specialty foods, and artisan wares. A full list of vendors, themes, musical entertainment and guest vendors can be found at ellingtonfarmersmarket.com where you can also sign up for the weekly newsletter.
