Ellington To Celebrate Spring With Outdoor Events
Opening Day of the Ellington Farmers' Market, Fair on the Green, Vintage Flea Market and the Grand Re-Opening of the Nellie McKnight Museum

The center of Ellington will be bustling on Saturday May 8th with a variety of outdoor activities including the Ellington Farmers’ Market, Fair on the Green, A Vintage Flea Market the Grand Re-Opening of the Nellie McKnight Museum and Farm Exhibit and the Grand Opening of Nellie’s Mercantile on Main.
The Ellington Farmers’ Market begins its outdoor season from 9-12 in Arbor Park with a Mothers’ Day Market. Forty vendors will be on hand with a wide variety of farm products, seafood, plants and flowers, baked goods, specialty foods, bath and body items and artisan wares. Americana/Folk singer Sheryl Stanton will be providing the musical entertainment. Additional market information can be found at www.ellingtonfarmersmarket.com.
The Ellington Women’s Club is bringing back the Fair on the Green, which so many have enjoyed throughout the years. The Fair will feature arts and crafts, a business expo, community groups, food and live music and run from 10-3 on the town green.

The Ellington Historical Society's Grand re-opening of the Nellie McKnight Museum, a Vintage Flea Market and the Grand Opening of Nellie's Mercantile on Main will take place on the grounds of the Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main St. from 10-3, right across from the green.
The Flea Market features loads of vintage items in wonderful condition from furniture to household items, toys, linens, antique tools and more.

The Nellie McKnight Museum, Farm Exhibit and the new Nellie’s Mercantile on Main will be open for browsing and shopping as well.
The historic 1812 Federalist style home features several style eras, a "Tribute to Nellie" exhibit, wedding dress collection, vintage nursery, antique china collection, sewing and textile exhibit, kitchen nostalgia, vintage women's clothing boutique and much more.
The Farm Exhibit features a variety of objects and informational panels depicting the history of farming in Ellington throughout the centuries.
The classic old fashion country store, Nellie’s Mercantile on Main, features farmhouse collections, town themed Ellington décor, local artisan wares and an inviting Wonderland of Christmas Shop and a Vintage Wares Barn. Additional information can be found at https://www.ellingtonhistsoc.org/
Additional activities include a plant sale in the back parking lot of the Ellington Congregational Church from 10:00am until noon, a Labyrinth Walk in the church labyrinth and garden and Mother's Day card sale on the front lawn from 10:00am-3:00pm.
