Ellington Community Fund Seeks Advisory Committee Nominees

Hartford Foundation Greater Together Community Fund Provides $100,000 to Support Participatory Grant Making in Ellington.

(DefiningStudios)

In 2019, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established a $100,000 community fund for each of the 29 towns in its region, including Ellington. The purpose for these funds is for town residents to take ownership of the needs in their community by setting up an Advisory Committee made up of town residents. Ellington has formed a Selection Committee to conduct a broad, diversified outreach to residents to inform them about the opportunity to be part of this advisory committee and is currently accepting nominations. The Advisory Committee will identify community needs and design a grant making process aimed to ensure that the funds can have the greatest impact for the benefit of town residents. Hartford Foundation staff will provide guidance to the advisory board. If you are interested or you would like to nominate someone for the Ellington Community Fund Advisory Committee. Applications can be submitted via this link or by contacting Sue Phillips at 860-870-3160 or phillips@biblio.org. Applications must be received no later than February 3rd.

The Ellington Community Fund also creates an opportunity for organizations and individuals to make tax-deductible contributions to support their town.
