The Ellington Farmers' Market is extending its outdoor season through Saturday Oct. 31st from 9-12 in Arbor Park.

The extended days will give extra time for the redemption of Senior and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers. The final day to redeem these coupons for produce is Oct. 31st. The market will continue to match the vouchers and SNAP, doubling the purchasing power of recipients, through the 31st.

At this time there are no plans for a winter market as a suitable indoor location, large enough for social distancing at the market has not been found. If a location can be found, the winter market will be scheduled.

The additional two weeks in October will at least give farmers, food producers and artisan extra opportunities to sell their wares and customers additional days to purchase local items.
