Ellington Farmers Market Has Fun And Informative October Lineup
Learn how to save on energy cost this winter, decorate a pumpkin, see a bald eagle and join the Halloween Pet Parade at the October markets.
The Ellington Farmers’ Market has an informative and fun filled lineup of events for the three remaining October Markets which are held 9-12 in Arbor Park. Go Green Day takes place Saturday October 5th with country band Steel N’Eazy providing the musical entertainment. Homestead Comfort will be on hand with information on getting your home ready for winter with a cost saving energy assessment. You can also find out if your home would benefit from solar panels by Earthlight Technologies and learn how to conserve water in your household from the Ellington Conservation Commission. Kids can decorate a pumpkin and enter a contest for the best one.
A Birds of Prey program by the Horizon Wings Rehabilitation is on tap for Oct. 12th at 10:00 and features a bald eagle, golden eagle, owls and other birds of prey. The Sue Gallaghar Duo will be providing the musical entertainment.
The popular Halloween Pet Parade will be held on the final day of the summer market on Oct 19th. Bring your pets in their finest Halloween garb and compete for prizes. The Parade takes place at 10:30.

The Ellington Farmers’ Market is held in Arbor Park on Main St. from 9-12 Saturdays. Forty vendors bring a wide variety of seasonal produce along with dairy, seafood, beef, pork, baked goods, specialty foods and artisan wares weekly.
