Ellington Farmers Market Hosts Fiber Festival

Enjoy a sheep shearing demonstration, hands on activities and demonstrations while shopping 40 vendors and enjoying live music in Arbor Park

Saturday May 19th the Ellington Farmers’ Market is hosting “All’s Wool that Ends Wool” fiber festival from 9am-12 noon in Arbor Park, Main St., Ellington. Highlights of the morning will include a sheep shearing demonstration at 10:00am and kids can make a nesting ball, take home a soap felting kit and try their hand at needle felt. There will be spinning demonstrations along with a variety of locally produced yarns, fibers and ready-made, products. Fiber producing animals such as baby Colored Angora Goats, Alpacas and sheep will be on hand for your family’s enjoyment. If you have a shedding or long haired dog you will want to visit Roberta Collins, owner of Fido’s Fiber, who specializes in spinning dog fur into yarn.
